October, 2019
Dear Wynncrest Homeowner,
On October 9, 2019, we held our annual Wynncrest Homeowners Association meeting. Thank you to those of you who were able to attend. The following matters were discussed and decided with a quorum of 44 household repenetrated in person or by proxy. The meeting was called to order by Scott Bierman. Vicki Helfrey took minutes. Trustee Michael Rudloff was also in attendance.
Fountains and Waterfall
One waterfall pump is in the repair shop. The fountain in the lower pond was failing and replaced for a total cost of $11,698.19. The waterfalls are running M-F from 5pm to 7pm and on the weekends from 7am to 7pm. The Trustees reported this schedule represents a balance between enjoyment time of the waterfall and cost involved to run the waterfall. The Trustees discussed the decision between leaving the fountains on during the winter versus having them stored.
Lighting Improvements
As reporting last year, the lighting in the common ground around the ponds as well as on the four entrance monuments and along the Wynncrest Manor Drive entrance was either no longer working properly or is not working at all. The Trustees have worked to remedy this situation and reported it has been resolved.
Landscaping
The Trustees reported they have been working to maintain the landscaping. They proposed considering greenery and/or lights for the entry monuments this year. There was a brief discussion that not all celebrate the same holidays. The Trustees understand the need to balance everyone’s views and any lighting or greenery would take this into consideration. Two bids have been received for 2020. The Trustees will review and make a determination in the next few weeks.
Lakes and Maintenance
The Trustees reported that primrose is the week growing around the perimeter and into the lower pond. They were advised that once the weather turns cold, it should die off. They will continue to monitor the growth next spring. The Trustees reported reviewing the issue of turbidly in the lakes, but were not able to find a resolution at this point. A motion was made and passed to maintain the overgrowth around the ponds. A second motion was made and passed to spend up to approximately $5000 annually for this purpose.
Street Trees
The trees that line the street and sidewalks can be replaced by the city. The homeowner is encouraged to call the city if they have a dead tree.
Other Business
The budget for 2020 was presented and adopted.
Election of Trustees
All three Trustee positions were up for election due to the fact that there has not been a quarum at meetings in the past few years. Lori Roach, Craig Sorce and Mo Dannenberg were elected.
The new Trustees met with the outgoing trustees to transfer information. The new Trustees met again in late October to discuss the landscaping bids, winterization needed, and outstanding homeowner requests. The Trustees discussed the desire to hold a block party or other neighborhood event in the spring to bring neighbors together for food, fun and fellowship. The Trustees look forward to working together and with you for the betterment of our subdivision.
